HELIOSPHERE

2020

Film, Interactive Installation

"Heliosphere" delves into the exploration of crucial themes such as the mediation of reality, perception management, and the absurdity of our contemporary era. These themes are intrinsically tied to the transformations brought about by the digital revolution, radically reshaping our lifestyles and how we perceive the world.

Sarcasm and humor become invaluable tools for initiating discussions on otherwise taboo subjects. Through "Heliosphere," I take the familiar format of television and media and transform it into a vehicle for delivering biting, satirical, and unapologetic revelations. This transformation is evident in the shows and performances presented, which not only scrutinize propaganda, media, and entertainment but tackle virtually any aspect influencing our 21st-century reality.

In the realm of movies, ideas can be explored within a vast array of contexts, some of which we may not even endorse. The understanding here is that it's a narrative, a construct where characters perform actions they might not engage in outside of this fictional space. This perspective allows the work to evolve into a terrain of ideas and innovations rather than providing definitive answers and explanations. "Heliosphere" strives to embody and explore these concepts across diverse mediums.

Notably, "Heliosphere" has brought to life an array of shows, a Unreal Engine-based game, interactive installations, and an instruction manual, all designed to challenge perceptions, foster discussions, and encourage fresh perspectives.

HELIOSPHERE GENERETOR MANUAL

Heliosphere Generator manual is a video thesis made for the graduation project. Research started with questions surrounding propaganda, the power of images and game theory. This investigation led to bigger topics about how we define and narrate our existence, data and our online realities in the rapid age of technology which will be discussed in the video below.

This thesis was nominated for the Minerva Award for Research in Art/Design

HELIOSPHERE AUDITIONS

Heliosphere Auditions was an interactive installation of a television set, holding an open audition for its next news anchor. The audience could participate by signing a form and auditioning for the role. This required them to read a bizarre and absurd text that was presented on the teleprompter. The green screen background was edited live Via OBS to add the intended imagery to the text.
