Performance at Grand Theatre

Mixed media, Livestream

NAIP, or "Beyond Art Disciplines," is an interdisciplinary project that bridges live music and visual art through collaboration between Prince Claus Conservatoire and Frank Mohr Institute. It encourages creative exploration that transcends conventional artistic boundaries.

Igor Bobeldijk and I collaborated closely during these sessions. Live cameras positioned at different angles captured the movements and expressions of the artists and musicians. These live feeds were then subjected to real-time editing and manipulation through software like OBS and Microsoft Paint.

Various lights were placed and manually adjusted in sync with the live performances. This lighting approach allowed for the creation of ever-evolving visual compositions. By keying out specific colors and layering multiple camera feeds, the visuals transformed alongside the performance.

The audience was invited to actively participate by creating art through smartphones That were wirelessly connected to OBS, enabling their artwork to be layered over the live footage. This interaction added an extra dimension to the performances, blurring the lines between the artists, musicians, and the audience.
